Through his experience in the fishing and tourism sectors, he has an innate understanding of export markets – particularly the nuances associated with exporting to China.
Bryan is chairman and a director of Fiordland Lobster Company Limited – New Zealand’s largest exports and the world’s largest exporter of the prized Southern Rock Lobster. It is a New Zealand export success story. He is also a director of its subsidiary company, South Australian Lobster Company Pty Limited.
In his Deep Creek Fruit role, Bryan, who also has a background in accounting, advises on the legalities of company structure and transaction processes, finds creative solutions for business concepts and helps set strategic direction for management to implement.
He thrives on the challenge of working outside the envelope in the export arena, particularly developing luxury food products for global markets which have an insatiable appetite for New Zealand luxury food products such as cherries.
Bryan holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He joined the board in February 2020.
